THERAPY, SUPERVISION, CASE MANAGEMENT

Margaret Ngunang, LCSW

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a Master’s in Social Work (MSW) from New York University (NYU). My professional journey includes postgraduate training in Couples and Family Therapy at the Ackerman Institute for the Family, where I earned a Certificate in Couples Mediation.

In my practice, I believe that beneath every struggle lies a person's innate beauty, often intertwined with pain, guilt, shame, or unresolved issues. My goal is to help clients untangle these complexities to discover their true selves and achieve healing and growth.

I am deeply committed to ongoing education and advocacy in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) within the field of social work. As an educator, I have had the privilege of teaching the Diversity, Race, Oppression, and Privilege (DROP) graduate-level course at NYU’s Silver School of Social Work, where I emphasize the importance of culturally competent practices.

As a SIFI-Certified clinician, I can:

  • Supervise MSW students

  • Offer supervision for LCSW hours

  • Mentor graduates starting in the field of social work

At MegKen Consulting, I am dedicated to providing compassionate and culturally responsive care. Together, we can work towards a future where every individual feels seen, heard, and valued.

THERAPY, TRAINING, CONSULTATION

Ken Kessel

I received my Masters in Social Work (MSW) from NYU in 1983, and my life and work are deeply anchored in Zen practice and teaching. I value the art of helping others find their voice through careful listening. To have a voice is to affirm you exist; to be heard is to know you're not alone.

I look for what's nurturing and affirming in each person and work with you to help it emerge. I find that cultivating each person's sensibilities about their own life is what generates transformation, and that being modest and incremental helps people find their own power.

Working with parents and children is a central part of my practice. Children naturally want to take the next step in growing, guided by how development unfolds.  I work with diverse parents and children to discover and support that together. For adults, it's like finding the light in the fog. I can guide you as parents toward how you, and your children, can best make sense of each other, and to each other. Work with children naturally involves at minimum consulting with the parent about how you each see and understand the child.  I find it best to be thoughtful about where this work may fit with any given family whether it is individual work with a child or children, consultation with the parents, work with the family together or separately with the parent, couple or other caretakers.

THERAPY, CASE MANAGEMENT

Jennifer Akotoh

I am a first-generation Ghanaian-American woman who enjoys working with emerging adults with different backgrounds and issues including with anxiety, depression, and life concerns such navigating interpersonal relationships, employment, family dynamics, identity, and self-worth.

I wholeheartedly believe that our emotional well-being is of vital importance to our overall health. You deserve to take care of yourself by pursing joy, peace and freedom and healing in all the ways that are meaningful to you. Therapy is a transformative means towards this end and while the journey may be a difficult one, it is well worth it.

I look forward to accompanying, encouraging, and holding space for you as you press forward throughout this therapeutic journey. I will work with you in a collaborative manner to identify how we can help you live your life in an authentic and fulfilling manner.
